Deformity Summit
Designed for experienced Orthopaedic and Neuro Spine Surgeons that specialize in Adult and/or Pediatric Deformity. Surgeons should have at least 3 years of experience, and perform 50+ Scoliosis procedures annually.
Program Overview & Format
This customized educational program begins and ends each day with exciting general session topics. The remaining part of each day offers the choice of both hands-on and small group breakouts on both adult and pediatric deformity topics.
This program seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of surgeons in the treatment of spinal deformity. Specifcally, the course is designed to expose experienced deformity surgeons to both current and emerging techniques, concepts, and strategies for deformity correction.
This course offers surgeons their choice of customized learning formats, including hands-on sawbones and cadaver labs, case reviews, lectures, debates, and panel discussions.
Pediatric Spinal Deformity Tutorial
Designed primarily for Orthopaedic Surgeons, but is also open to Neuro Spine Surgeons, who have been in practice for 1-3 years, and perform 25+ Scoliosis procedures annually. Of these, roughly 25% should be pediatric cases.
Program Overview & Format
This course is designed to instruct participants on techniques and instrumentation for the treatment of spinal deformities including:
- Thoracic pedicle screws: Indications and techniques
- Three-dimensional correction techniques: Reduction, translation, and de-rotation
- Spinopelvic instrumentation: Sacral and sacro-iliac fxation solutions
The format of this course consists of a hands-on cadaver lab, live surgical observation, didactic presentations, and case reviews.
Adult Spinal Deformity Tutorial
Designed primarily for surgeons who have been in practice for 1-3 years and perform 25+ Scoliosis procedures annually, 25% of which are Adult.

Designed for Neuro Spine Surgeons that have been in practice for 1-3 years, and have limited experience in spinal deformity correction techniques.
Program Overview & Format
This course is designed to educate Neurosurgeons on the basic principles of deformity correction, from basic degenerative to complex cases. The format of this course consists of didactic presentations, a hands-on cadaver lab and case review.
EXPEDIUM® Favored Angle Screw Visitation
Designed for both Orthopaedic and Neuro Spine Surgeons who have been in practice for at least 3 years, and perform at least 35 Scoliosis procedures annually.
Program Overview & Format
This course demonstrates the power and versatility of a single screw in addressing complex deformity correction. The format of this course consists of a live surgical observation and case review.
Advanced Deformity Visitation: Miami
Designed for experienced Orthopaedic and Neuro Spine Surgeons who have been in practice for at least 5 years, perform 50+ Scoliosis procedures annually, and have already attended an introductory training program on spinal deformity.
Program Overview & Format
This course aims to expose experienced deformity surgeons to thought leading techniques, concepts, and strategies for complex deformity correction. The format of this program consists of a one-and-a-half day visitation including discussion-based presentations among a small group of participants. The second day of this program includes live surgical observation in the host surgeon’s operating room.
Advanced Deformity Visitation: Germany
BY INVITATION ONLY. The Advanced Deformity Visitation program offers a unique opportunity to visit a key thought leader in spinal deformity surgery. A two day visitation with Professor Jürgen Harms includes discussion-based presentations among a small group of participants, followed by a group dinner. Professor Harms encourages visitors to bring their own cases (electronic format) with them for discussion. Day Two of the program includes live surgical observation. This event is by invitation only and includes two days for travel to and from Germany.
Spine Deformity: A Neurosurgical Perspective II
This Spinal Deformity course is designed for experienced Neuro Spine Surgeons that have been in practice for at least 3 years, and perform 25+ Adult or Pediatric Scoliosis procedures annually.
Program Overview & Format
This is an advanced hands-on program that focuses on both adult and pediatric deformity correction, and introduces MIS capabilities and techniques for treating deformity. The format of this course consists of a didactic and hands-on cadaver lab followed by case review.
Deformity Peer-to-Peer
By Invitation Only. Primarily for Orthopaedic and Neuro Spine Surgeons who have been in practice for at least 5 years, and perform 75+ Adult and/or Pediatric Scoliosis procedures annually.
Program Overview & Format
This course fosters unique peer-to-peer discussions on contemporary topics in the treatment of complex deformity. The format of this course consists of roundtable discussions and case-based presentations.
